Rear half shaft retainer snap ring 90520-36045, prevents the retainer collar from moving on the half shaft and in turn keeps the wheel bearing in position.
Quite often this snap ring spreads out of shape when changing the rear wheel bearing.
This snap ring has a square "cross-section" to the snap ring.
